(79) As with most cult pictures, the acting here is somewhat lacking and the dialogue wants for work-shopping but, again – as with others, the mechanics aren’t where the value of Vanishing Point resides. Its message of “true freedom” may seem like naive idealism in today’s cynical world but it has an honest spirit and good intention behind it.
